Biography

Originally from Sisseton, South Dakota, a microcosm of cultural interaction and geographic intersection, Ailsa Staub responds to personal experience by making restrained, sometimes awkward, narrative and conceptual sculpture. She received her BA in Art and English Literature from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. Moving from Minneapolis to Baltimore in 2006, she attended the Post-baccalaureate Program at Maryland Institute College of Art, and thereafter received her MFA from MICA’s Rinehart School of Sculpture in 2010. She has attended residencies in North Dakota and Vermont. Staub currently lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland.
